Bise Malakand (Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Malakand) was constituted in 2003, as it separated from Bise Swat, and is functioning in accordance with the NWFP Act/Ordinance 1990. It is responsible to organize, control and regulate the examinations at secondary school and intermediate level in more than 450 educational institutions which includes both private and government sector schools and colleges. The jurisdiction of the Board are confined to four districts, out of which two are agencies and two are districts.
It is the duty of this Board to conduct the examinations in extremely fair and transparent manners in Malakand Agency, Dir Lower, Bajaur Agency and Dir Upper. In the beginning there was not available any building where the workings of the board can be done, so the initial temporary set up was created in the hostel of Govt. Primary School Chakdara No. 1, then it was moved to OPF Mashall School and later on in The University of Malakand. However, now the Board has established its own building which is situated at chatpat Chakdara Distt Dir Lower Pakistan.
In Pakistan Matriculation examination is comprises of two parts, commonly known as 9th and 10th class. It is also known as SSc as in it Secondary School Certificates are awarded to all the successful candidates. Tenth class papers are commenced in March, while the ninth class examination is usually held in April. Authorities issues the date sheet of all examinations at least one month before the exam. Board generally announces the matric result in the end of July or start of August.
