It was created in 1977, under the Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act No. XIII of 1976 as result of bifurcation from Sargodha Board. At present the jurisdictions of the Biserwp are restricted to the districts of Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, and the Civil Division of Rawalpindi.
