This place is one of great blessing of God. All the natural resources are existing here. Jhelum district is one of most beautiful gift of nature; it is consider one of the famous places for recreation. It is located northern side of Punjab in Pakistan. Many people of the world concern and gives more importance to the history . This district was ruled by many famous leaders like Raja Ashok Azam, Sultan Mehmood Ghazanvi, Muhammad Bin Qasim, Sultan Al Tamash, Jalal ul Din Muhammad Akabr, Noor ud Din Jahangir and Maharaja Ranjeet Singh. So history of the Jhelum District consists of immense importance. It’s started from 997CE at that time Sultanate era was going and that place was under the controlled of Sultan Mahmud Ghaznawi after that Mughal era start and then Sikh Era start in 1765. In 1849 this place was ruled by Bristishers at that time this was a part of Rawalpindi Division .Jalham was the old name of the place which was the mixture of two words. The word Jal means pure water and Ham means for snow. Basically under the British regime on 23rd March 1849 this land was formed. Pind Dadan Khan was the head quarter of this. There was huge population of Muslims so after division of the sub continent it becomes a part of Pakistan. In 1998 the total population of the district was approximately 936,957, which is raised to about 1,103,000 according 2006 census.

Boundaries of the district join with different districts of the country. The inhabitant of this area usually spoke Punjabi language in different dialects but they also understand Urdu language. Only few educate lite spoke English language. Every year these elementary level examinations are conducted by authorities in the month of February. Punjab Education Commission issues the date sheet in the first week of January along with roll number slips. With the advancement in technology it has opened an IT based window to deal directly with the student’s problems, and provide them efficient solutions online. Now as per government policy, grade 5 and 8 examinations are mandatory for all the students of private / public schools and madaris functioning within the province of Punjab. So a misconception that papers conducted by Pec are optional is totally false and baseless.
