Pec (Punjab examination Commission) is an autonomous body established by the Government of Punjab to assess the learning achievements of elementary level students in the Province of Punjab. This system works on the base of feedback provided by 36 districts, which helps in the policy decision making, educational management and improvement in student’s learning.
Lahore District is the most important and highly populated and urban district of Punjab Province. Lahore City as the capital of the district and province is an old and famous city of Pakistan, well known for its rich culture and heritage rooted to the sub-continent since the pre-partition times. District’s population is 6,318,745, as per the census of 1998 and almost 82% population is stated as urban, highest ratio as compared to all other districts of Punjab.
Every year these elementary level examinations are conducted by authorities in the month of February. Punjab Education Commission issues the date sheet in the first week of January along with roll number slips. With the advancement in technology it has opened an IT based window to deal directly with the student’s problems, and provide them efficient solutions online. Now as per government policy, grade 5 and 8 examinations are mandatory for all the students of private / public schools and madaris functioning within the province of Punjab. So a misconception that papers conducted by Pec are optional is totally false and baseless.
Urdu being national language is spoken and understood by majority of the population of this district whereas Majhi, Pothohari, Pahari, Dhani, Shah puri, Jhangochi, Bangla, Rachana, Chenavari, Thalachi, Chachi, Jandali, Multani, Saraiki, Derawali, Riasti, Ghebi, Dogri & Darhab are also spoken in different parts of the districts. English id also understood by a sizeable population of the district. The total area of the Lahore district is 1,772 square kilometres (684 sq mi).
Lahore Board will announce the 5th and 8th class result 2013 in the last week of March, last year it was announced on 30th March.
