Multan is a well known district of Punjab province. It is also known as city of Saints. It is consider one of the ancient lands of the world. It had great history. At the time of Indus Valley Civilization this was consider one of the great agricultural area with forest. It was ruled by many famous leaders like Gupta Empire, White Huns, Kushano-Hephthalites, Maurya Empire, Indo-Greek kingdom, Shahi kingdoms and Kushan Empire. In 997 CE Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi took over this land and ruled here for a long time. After the decline of his period Mughal Era started and then Shik ruled. Most of the habitants of that place were Muslims so they all are in the fever establishment of Pakistan. They supported Muslim League and part of Pakistan. All the minorities migrated to India smoothly. It is located between Khanewal district, Vehari district, Lodhran district and river Chenab.

Area wise it was third largest district of Pakistan, It has occupied a space around 3721 square kilometers. In 2001 Executive District Officer Agriculture decided to make agricultural groups because of large productions. It consists of five department which are on Farm Water Management, livestock, Forest, Agriculture (Extension) and Fisheries. Live stocks in this area are sheep’s, goats, cattle and buffaloes. Numbers of poultry farms are operating here. That’s why there exits good prospect for many products such as meat/poultry processing unit, leather garments, leather footwear, ice cream, animal/poultry feed, dairy farms, cattle/sheep/goat fattening farms and milk processing/dairy products units.

The district is also rich for many mineral mining. Thousands of industries are present here including 20 dal mills, 13 vegetable ghee units,1 biscuit, 20 cotton textile spinning units, 42 flour mills, 3 fruit juice, 9 solvent oil extraction units and hundreds of cotton ginning/pressing and oil mills already operating in district Multan. Total metallic roads are about 983 kilometers. About 20 telephone exchanges and 10 grid stations available here. Special Judicial Magistrate, Civil Judges, Civil Judges Cum Judicial Magistrates, District and Sessions Judge, Judicial Magistrates, Additional District and Sessions Judge and Senior Civil Judge/Guardian Judge are the judicial officers in the district. Hundreds of educational institutes are operating in the district for reducing the illiteracy rate in the districts but still about 45% is the literacy rate. Punjab Education Commission issues the date sheet in the first week of January along with roll number slips. With the advancement in technology it has opened an IT based window to deal directly with the student’s problems, and provide them efficient solutions online. Now as per government policy, grade 5 and 8 examinations are mandatory for all the students of private / public schools and madaris functioning within the province of Punjab. So a misconception that papers conducted by Pec are optional is totally false and baseless.
